Kelantan scored a late equaliser to save them the blushes against an improved Sarawak side.
New signing Joel Epalle showed his class by spearheading attacks for the Crocs as Guy Bwele engineered the Sarawak midfield to perfection. In the seventh minute, K Rajan almost took the lead for Sarawak, but his header was saved.
Kelantan returned the favour through a counter attack via Indra Putra Mahyudin, but the back four led by Dzulazlan Ibrahim was enough to keep Nwoha Onyekachi and co. at bay.
Sarawak finally broke the deadlock when Bwele powered a beautiful free-kick out of the reach of Sharizan Ismail, putting the Crocs one goal up.
The electrifying game went from end to end but both teams were guilty of squandering good chances. At half-time, Sarawak looked good for the win with Kelantan looking ordinary.
Kelantan started the second-half with more urgency as they tried to manipulate Onyekachi's speed up front. Indra Putra and Shakir Saari supplied Onyekachi with long passes and the forward managed to outrun Ramesh Lai who was marking him.
Despite that, the score remained in Sarawak's favor, with the home team playing a more defensive game.
Sarawak finally succumbed to Kelantan's attacks in three minutes from the end of regulation time when a brief lapse of concentration allowed Norfarhan to grab Kelantan's equaliser.
Sarawak regained their attacking form and came close twice to secure the win. However, Rajan's shot was pushed out for a fruitless corner, and Azizan's header was headed out just before it touch the back of the net to give both Sarawak and Kelantan the point they deserve.
